I built a free Windows pronunciation coach for the English you actually use
I just launched Pronunciation Coach, a free Windows app for people who want to practise the English they actually use at work, in meetings, documents and everyday conversations.
The idea came from a simple frustration: pronunciation practice often means switching between apps or practising generic sentences that have little to do with what you really need to say.
With Pronunciation Coach, you can select English text in most Windows apps and press Ctrl+Alt+P to hear it instantly. You can also use the full coach to listen, record yourself, replay your speech, and review a practice score, recognition confidence and words to revisit.
The hardest part was making the workflow reliable across repeated listening, recording and analysis attempts, while keeping the feedback useful without overstating what the score actually measures.
The app is local-first, requires no subscription or account, and is 100% free.

I’d love to hear your perspective:
What would make a pronunciation practice tool useful enough to become part of your regular routine ?

Does user need to install it on a Windows computer first, so that it works in any browser?🤔
Yes, exactly! Since it's a native Windows app running in the background, it works system-wide. You can use it in any browser, any text editor, messaging apps, and even directly on standard (text-based) PDFs!
