My name is Jonathan, and I am a solo-developer with real software engineering experience. I am also the founder of Quantae Divitiae. This is a paper trading platform for beginner to intermediate investors. Some of its features are, near real-time data, lots of financial fundamentals, the opportunity to learn higher level financial concepts such as DCF models and backtesting statistics.

I plan to launch it on this platform at the start of August. But I am doing a free beta testing and would love if people checked it out and gave feedback! quantaedivitiae.com.

Welcome Jonathan! Love that you added "real" software engineering experience. A few years back nobody would need to specify that, but in the era of vibe coding it actually matters. The paper trading concept is interesting. Curious though, how is the learning experience on Quantae Divitiae different from the demo/dummy accounts that major trading platforms already offer?

Something that really sets me apart from the competition is the depth of the fundamentals, I give the user the full annual and quarterly financials. I also give important metrics such as WACC, ROIC, and most importantly, a DCF model calculation. I also give the user a place to learn about all of those things. My platform is also much more beginner friendly in terms of UI. It is a clean, simple design that is very easy to navigate. Things on the roadmap: A trading log, where users can document why they made trades for future reference, configurable health score where users can score stocks based on what they think is important, and a more flexible backtesting experience.

Welcome to the community, Johny 🙋🏻‍♂️ This sounds very interesting. I always wanted to learn stock trading but never got a chance. Mostly because there is so much of different terminology and I wanted to somehow practice first. So a beginner-friendly platform with fake money sounds like a good idea to me 👍🏻 I will be looking forward to your launch!

Jonathan, the trading log idea is the one that stands out to me. Most paper trading tools let you practice the mechanics but never make you write down why you made a decision, and that is usually the part that actually teaches something. A configurable health score is a nice touch too, since what matters to a value investor and what matters to someone trading momentum are not the same three numbers. Are you planning to let people compare their own trade log against how the stock actually performed afterward, so they can see whether their reasoning held up over time?
